Reduce Energy Bills With Ecoglaze as Winter Draws in
Secondary Glazing is the Answer to Reducing Energy Bills this winter!
The news last week of huge UK domestic energy bill rises in the pipeline will send a shiver down the spine of many households as another cold winter approaches but there are cost effective ways of future proofing homes against the price hikes according to Yorkshire firm Access Plastics.
Energy regulator Ofgem released data last Friday suggesting UK domestic energy bills could rise by up to 60% by 2016, which is predicted to be between 14% and 25% above the inflation rate.
Access Plastics, based at Eastburn near Keighley, has seen demand for its EcoGlaze secondary glazing solution boom over the past twelve months with consumers choosing easily attachable acrylic glazing ahead of double glazing, which can often cost up to fifteen times as much to install as well as delivering less efficient U-values (the amount of heat transferred or conducted through a material).
EcoGlaze has a U-value of 2.7 compared with around 3.1 for double glazing and 5.8 for single glazing. Given that most homes lose between a quarter and half of heat through windows EcoGlaze combines outstanding performance with an unrivalled return on investment.
Janine Fleming of Access Plastics commented: “Secondary acrylic glazing offers a host of benefits and it’s not just on price. Our customers have been contacting us with the good news that their quarterly energy bills have been slashed by between 15% and 25% with much greater energy efficiency than single glazing.”
They are bold claims but can be substantiated according to
Janine: “One good example is a customer who got a double glazing quote for one window and subsequently found that they could use EcoGlaze to cover all of their windows for less than the cost of double glazing one window! On a pro rata basis EcoGlaze is between 7 and 8% of the cost of traditional double glazing.
“There are also significant reductions in noise pollution and condensation as well as an easy self installation process that takes minutes as opposed to the hours it takes for double glazing to be installed.
“EcoGlaze is far and away the cheapest secondary glazing option available in the UK due to the fact that we are not the traditional double or secondary glazing firm with the costs associated with slick marketing and even slicker salesman. We focus, through our Ireland-based manufacturing firm, on supplying products with minimal commercial mark ups and these cost savings can be easily passed on.
“It’s also perfect for the many hundreds of thousands of people who live in listed properties and are unable to install double glazing due to strict regulations and we’ve seen a big demand from this sector.
“We look set to experience another cold winter ahead and how many UK households can afford not to look at saving on their energy bills especially during these recessional times? Environmental products such as EcoGlaze offer by far and away the most cost effective way forward,” added Janine.
Customers can contact Access Plastics online at httwww.365plastics.com or by phone on 01535 656983 and supply their window measurements. The EcoGlaze is then cut to size and delivered within a few days with adhesive and magnetic strips.
